Who remembers last years CrossFit Games Open Sectionals? They started in February and lasted about six weeks long. Every Tuesday the workouts were announced from HQ and on Thursdays, CPC’ers all threw down!
This year we feel like we have a hell of a shot at putting together an Affiliate Team. This would be a group of men and women who would have an opportunity to go down to Regionals and compete as a team against the other best affiliate teams in the country.
Here’s the kicker – February is six months away. Many teams take the month after the Games off and then start training immediately. We’re about to do the same.
Eric has said that if we can gather the necessary amount of folks who would like to take a shot at the Open, then he’ll program for the team for the remainder of the year. Most likely the group will be training at 1pm during open gym hours and will following a periodized program geared towards having the team peak in February. It’s going to be some extremely hard training until then.
Anyone who is specifically looking to train for competitions, especially the Open, this is where you want to be.
