WEEK 1 – SPONSOR AND NEW CHALLENGE.

Every week of our Whole Life Challenge we’re going to have a local business sponsor the week. Anyone who gets all of the bonus points for the week will have their name entered into a raffle to win a great prize. We’ll be drawing the name out every Monday, so make sure that you’re logging in your results on time!

This week is sponsored by Revolution Wellness, Ali’s Acupuncture and Wellness business. Up for grabs are a free 90 minute acupuncture treatment to help you get over any cravings, stress, or pains that you’re experiencing from week 1 – or – your choice of a 60 minute nutritional coaching consultation with a 30 minute follow up phone consult. Bring all of your nagging Whole Life Challenge dietary issues here, trust me, she’ll sort you out.

Either one would be a great benefit for someone this first week. My view of Ali’s work is obviously biased, but she’s who Eric and I, as well as a number of other CPC’ers personally see for acupuncture. Ali was also hugely instrumental in cleaning up my diet and keeping me on track when beer and pizza came a calling as she had to have herself on a 100% strict 18 month paleo diet two years ago to recover from an illness. 18 straight months with no deviation makes you learn a thing or two.

Few people know this but when we were studying for out licensing board exam together, I used to beat Ali on all of the practice tests. Then come the day of the big dance, she handed my ass to me by scoring well above me on the only test that really mattered. Now I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’m still bitter or hold any kind of secret grudge over this, but once this challenge is over feed me a couple of beers and ask me my thoughts on being smoked on the most important test of my life by someone who’s entire day can be brought to its knees by a tube of super glue. (I’m not saying it was aliens…but…)

Many many thanks to Ali for donating her valuable time and energy to our cause!

This week’s bonus challenge (thanks Danette) – is to drink a half an ounce of water for every pound of bodyweight that you have. 100 pounds = 50 oz’s of water! Happy peeing!

Today’s Workout:
Skill: Skin-da-cat

“You Got Served”
10 Rounds For Time
20 Air Squats
5 Burpee pullups

Did I miss where it asked us about the bonus challenge when checking in? Or will it just ask us at the end of the week?

No subbing man, just plain old regular water. Same stuff Olive drinks. tb

I am not saying I am going to drink 75 oz of cocunut water per day. I am just asking if a 17.5 oz can of C20 counts as a substitute.

Does coconut water count?

Danette, you're correct as usual. That's our mistake. The weekly challenge will also be loaded into the WLC software. For clarity, we are asking that you drink have your bodyweight in ounces of water daily. So, if I weigh 175lbs, my goal will be to drink 88 ounces of water daily. If you do that all 7 days next week starting saturday and log it everyday in the WLC, you will receive 2 bonus at the end of the week and entered into the raffle for Ali's generous gift!

Did I miss where you posted the weekly bonus challenge? Divide bodyweight and drink that in ounces everyday for a week... I thought you had said you would post it every Friday in the CPC blog? I love breakfast too... Will try to make it every other Friday

I'm down for breakfast, but isn't it challenging to eat paleo at Cabrillo Beach? In my limited experience, the first word that comes to my head when I hear that name is "pancakes".

If anyone wants to do a weekly breakfast hangout to talk about how everything is going let me know - I was thinking that Friday mornings at 7:30AM at the Cabrillo Beach Grill might be a good idea. Just another way to get support.

JJ- when you log into pacificcoast.wholelifechallenge.com, there's the Rules/FAQ tab. That covers the majority of what we talked about. The websites really easy to use, so somebody with your level of expertise will be just fine. Post any questions to the website's forum. If you guys haven't gone into the website to sign up yet, please do.
