Take a look at today’s workout. What do you think about it?
Eric and I get asked to look at people’s home/hotel training all of the time. One of the themes that we notice across the board, is simply how complicated they’ve made it. We see rounds divided by times divided by percentages of body weight added to a derivative of pi or something there of.
Back when Eric and I were still youngsters, CrossFit training was much more simple, but no less effective. For the general athlete, 15 minutes of combining two opposing movements is a perfect match. Couplets (two movements only), are a great way to go if you’re on the road or needing to blow off some steam at home. Pick two movements, 5-10 reps for each and go after them for 10 to 15 minutes. Simple, yet effective.
Your body doesn’t know what calculations you’ve done to come up with the perfect home workout, it knows hard simple work though and will respond appropriately.
