ENDURANCE PROGRAM STARTING AGAIN – JULY 3RD

Who doesn’t want to wake up to a cheery six-foot New Zealander every Tuesday and Thursday morning? You ask, we deliver!

Starting on Tuesday July 3rd at 6:00am, our CPC Endurance program is kicking off again. After the huge success of the last program, we’re going to stick to a similar format this time around.

The team will meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning (with the exception of July 5th, that one is getting bumped to Friday the 6th due to the required gluttony and binge drinking of the 4th) at 6:00 am.

Tuesday morning sessions will be held at the City College Track, Thursday’s meeting location will be announced after each Tuesday session and will be somewhere out and about in SB. The program will run all the way through until August 23rd, leaving a week of light training and recovery before Pier to Peak.

On Saturday July 14th, in conjunction with the program, Eric will be holding his kick ass Natural Running Seminar from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. The cost for the Endurance Program is $95, as is the cost for the above mentioned kick ass Natural Running Seminar. Hit them both together for a cool $175.

The only caveat to the program is that we are setting a cap of 15 people so that Kiwi can make sure that everyone is getting individual attention. We’re opening it up to the public next Thursday the 28th and will hold spots for CPC’ers until then.

Sign up sheet is up at the gym next to the check in computer, get in early to hold your spot!

Today’s Workout:

Skill: Turkish Getup

WOD: 1 x for time

30 Burpees
15 Clean & Jerks (135#/95#)
3 Rope climbs
20 Burpees
10 Clean & Jerks
2 Rope climbs
10 burpees
5 Clean & Jerks

Hi gang. Heading to Colorado for fire and for some odd reason I am really bummed that I am missing hell week. Have a great time next week killing it.

I can't recommend this enough, I saw marked improvements over the eight weeks I participated in this program and the group itself is nothing if not fun to be around. I'm most definitely in.

In. Aaand I have friends chomping on the bit for that "opening it up to the public next Thursday the 28th" thing. I can't wait to beat Malzone at Pier to Peak again this year!!

I'm going to be away for July, so someone better take my spot!

If you have ever seen one of those wounded cape buffalo struggling out of the water with a Nile Croc chewing on his derriere, you can imagine what I will look like coming around the final turn of a 400 on the track...eyes red rimmed and glazed, foam flinging from my nostrils, the smell of chicken mcnuggets(fear)bleeding from my pores. It's going to be damn ugly but I am in. Aug

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah - what they ^^^ said. Sign up! Do it. Don't even THINK about complaining to me about 6am this or 6am that. Just do it, OK? The only exception to those instructions would be if you get to the sign-up sheet and there's only one spot left and you don't see my name on the list. In that case, standard protocol requires that you call me and that we meet at a location of my choosing to rock-paper-scissors for the spot (best out of 3, of course). You are almost guaranteed to lose, but you know, fair is fair ;)

Just do it - don't worry about being the slowest person - believe me - set your own goals (like ok Cody is going to lap me but dammit Baker better not!) so it was an awesome day when I did't get lapped by Baker. And Kiwi is always there with encouagement and not having to run alone is the bonus.

Looking forward to this again! If you are on the fence then just sign up and try it! What have you got to lose? It's seriously awesome. Also, much like crossfit - everyday is something different.

For anyone who is still on the fence about signing up for the Endurance Seminar, I highly recommend it! In eight weeks time, I made HUGE strides (pun intended) in both my running and CPC performance! The biggest benefit for me was learning how to pace myself and maintaining a certain speed versus going balls out and gassing out early into a run or WOD.
