A great experience. Practice, practice practice!

It was awesome. He was as charismatic as he was knowledgeable. Here’s a recap of the most important points:

(1) Big guys are fragile

(2) Potty chairs suck

(3) Olympians are true genetic aberrations

Anyway, it was great fun and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I agree with Cross…this was awesome. I’m a big quote guy and I managed to spot a few gems from Saturday. Enjoy

1) “Olympic Lifting is part weird and mystical. Use the force.”
2) “Sometimes you black out. It’s part of the sport.”
3) “That’s ‘caca foot’”
4) “Your body is a collection of artifacts compiled from the activities of your life.”

and finally…

CT- “Eric did you just hit the back of your head with the bar?”
EM- “Yes Coach.”
CT- “Don’t do that”
EM- “K Coach.”

Best line in the review:

“Eric and his partner Traver Boehm…”

See, it’s obvious to everyone. Just bring it out in the open. You have a loving and accepting community waiting to support you.

Thanks Eric and Traver for saving a spot for me on Saturday. Great to be around athletes and community. THANK YOU Coach Takano!!! (Who knows, at 50 years old, maybe a lifting meet in my future?! Happy I could keep up with you young ones.) Glad to know I have a place to train in Santa Barbara, see you all soon.

Terrific seminar! I learned a lot, especially that hitting your chin with the bar will leave a mark. FUN BBQ on Sunday too! Thanks for all the hospitality towards the interloping LA girls. :-)

Awesome experience for me! I have been involved with olympic lifting on many different levels throughout the last 15 years of my life and this was the first time that I have had the opportunity to learn from someone with the experience and knowledge of Coach Takano. While I felt like the seminar covered many of the basics, I was not there to learn how to Oly lift (however I am always in need of critique and practice and learned a lot about myself), my focus was on coaching and trying to get as much information from a coaching perspective. I really feel like a came away a better coach! Thanks Coach Takano and Traver & Eric for hosting such a great event!

Speaking of Traver and Eric and the comments above… Did you guys finally come out of the closet? If so congrats, you have my full support!
