Great post Traver. You gave it your all and that is all that matters. Great work. I see CF comaraderie all the time and even use it at work and daily life. It's amazing to see the difference when you tell someone "good job" and the smile that then starts on their face. Could it be that CF is one step toward world peace? Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Traver,

I enjoyed reading your reasons as to why you crossfit. And even though I didn't think of those myself, apart of me feel the same way. Thanx for sharing.

Traver,

I came across your post above thanks to Jake @ Crossfit RVA (Richmond, VA) where my brother, John, is a part owner. I belong to High Desert Crossfit in Bend, OR. I'm a fan of Crossfit RVA on facebook so upon seeing Jake's link to your site I double clicked. Boy, was I glad I did. It's just flippin RiDiCuLoUs I tell ya! I've struggled for some time now in how to best explain Crossfit but I now have my answer. I feel like my world is complete. Like one of the most important puzzle pieces has been securely put in place. I'm exited! So thank you Traver! It's amazing that from Bend, OR to Richmond, VA to Santa Barbara, CA back to Bend, OR I can fill in such an important piece into my life's puzzle. No, wait, it's ridiculous! 3, 2, 1 GO!

Traver, your words are as powerful and inspirational as your performance at sectionals. Thanks for sharing your experience and congratulations on kicking some major ass this past weekend!!

I'm still coming down from the shock and ah of my first Crossfit event. Just being a spectator at sectionals, I walked away feeling empowered and with a deeper understanding about the heart of Crossfit and why people do it. I have never seen such a display of camaraderie at a competition in my entire life. And the athletic performances I witnessed blew my mind. While watching these incredible athletes shed blood, sweat and tears as they endured such a torturous workout, I was reminded of the saying “it’s the greatest sacrifice that yields the greatest reward”. You are absolutely right in saying Crossfit is SO much more than a way to achieve optimal physical fitness. Crossfit is training for how to really live and get the most out of life. It’s a way to see what you’re made of and invites you to challenge what you believe to be your limits beyond just physically. And the “greatest reward”... it will help you find the strength to persevere no matter what the obstacle so you can actualize your greatest potential.

Traver, Malzone, everyone at CPC, and all you Crossfitters out there, thank you for being an inspiration!

Great work Traver!

I had a great time watching you compete and giving everything your all. Hopefully we'll never have to do that many squats in 2 days ever again. Hope your legs are feeling better!

Congrats Traver! Kicking ass and taking names :)

The fact that you are able to do all of that with a torn ACL is enough inspiration for me.

I reallu enjoyed the article. It was a great word of empowerment for me, as I finally have been able to consistenly crossfit 3-4 times a week. My goal is to compete next year, just for the sake of it, and keep pushing hard through the ridiculousness!
