LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT.

By

Amber and Cross with the tough job of keeping Jim from flying into the rafters!

Right before the beginning of the year, Eric and I sat down and had a big meeting about all of the awesome things that we plan to accomplish this year at CrossFit Pacific Coast.  In addition to the paintball day, adventure races other mayhem we have planned, we each decided to each chose a local community organization to work with as a way to give back to the city that has welcomed us so warmly.
Eric chose Team in Training, an organization that raises money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society while coaching everyday people on the benefits of fitness, nutrition and injury prevention.  What could be better?
I chose The Toastmaster Soldiers and Los Prietos Boys Camp.  The Toastmaster Soldiers is an organization founded by my good friend and fellow Toastmaster Billi Jo Starr, that works with troubled boys at Los Prietos Boys Camp, teaching them the value of expressing themselves, of teamwork, goal setting and so much more, all through the medium of public speaking.  These are great kids with unlimited potential – all they need is a little bit of help finding their voice.
You all know that Eric and I are going to continue to challenge you this year, both in the gym and outside of it.  We are going to be working together with these two organizations closely and invite you all to join us.   Team In Training + Toastmaster Soldiers + CPC = The super duper uber awesome.

They sound like worthy causes. Fitting for CPC.

2

Sounds awesome. Would either organization benefit from a signed pair of tiny red shorts?

3

You already know this, but Traver, Eric, you are first class all the way.

4

I thought that signed shorts were going on the Wall of Fame?

TNT will be holding their Summer Season Kickoff get together here at CPC on February 6th. It’s a great way to learn more about their organization and enjoy some tasty BBQ by yours truly.

If anybody is looking to do a marathon (full or half) or triathlon, this is an excellent way to get and stay motivated while raising money for a great cause.

Cross- I’ll ask if they’d like to auction off some red short-shorts. Personally, I think they’re worth a TON on the open market…but people don’t always see it my way. If nothing else, we may retire those to the “CPC Hall of Fame” in the gym.
