AFFILIATE CHALLENGE THIS VERY WEEKEND!

 This is a big weekend Folks!  We have two teams heading down to CrossFit Ventura to compete in their Affiliate competition on Saturday.  Kate, Fielding, Jeff (Baker), Lisa, Amber, Matt (Crossley), Christina (Hogans), and the Jim (The Claw) have all stepped up to the plate to represent CPC this weekend and I think that everyone who’s not competing should plan to go to CrossFit Ventura to lend their support and get to see just what a CrossFit competition looks like.  There will be teams from San Luis Obispo all the way down to Los Angeles coming together for the competition and it’s going to be an awesome day.  We’ll be carpooling down to CFV at 7am on Saturday morning if anyone needs a ride.  Go Team CPC!!

30 Second Handstand
5 Left arm KB Thrusters
30 Second Handstand
15 KB Swings

Awesome Guys can’t wait to see the CPC crew. I got talked into doing the challenge last minute so I will be there representing with Paradiso Crossfit. We have three teams from our box. Congratulations and Good luck to everyone. I’m very excited!

I’m SOSOSOSO excited and SOOO proud of all of you for competing… you guys totally ROCK and you are going to kick ass!! Have a great time and I’ll be thinking about all of you while I’m snowboarding (sliding down the hill on my ass) in Tahoe :)

Team Captains got an email this morning with the details on the WOD’s and the days itinerary Claw.

Crossley circulated it right after my first post. Here they are:

Team WOD #1 (20 minute time limit) 3 Rounds
400m run (Entire team runs together)
Pullups (M: 25 reps, W: 20 reps)
Thrusters for count (M: 95#, W: 65#)

Once the last team member returns from the 400m run, the team will split into two, 2-person coed groups. In each coed group, one person will perform his/her prescribed pullups while his/her partner completes the thrusters. Thrusters can only begin when the other person begins his/her pullups and thrusters are finished when the partners’ pullups are completed. Then switch. When the whole team is done with pullups, the team may begin the next round.

Your team score will be time in seconds minus the total amount of thrusters performed by the team. Lowest number wins.

Team WOD #2 (15 minute time limit)
1 Mile Run for Time

Load one barbell with 95# and take it for a one-mile run as a team. Every time the bar hits the ground, each person on the team has to do 5 burpees before advancing. The bar must stay below the shoulder and cannot be rested on any part of the leg.
