GOALS = ONLY 3% OF AMERICANS HAVE THEM.
BySafe trip, Jut. We'll miss you this month.
How many of you remember the goals that your wrote down in the Elite Goal section of our website? I know of a few members that have far surpassed what they had written down in there and hope that you all have had a chance to look over that section, not only to get a gauge on your own goals, but also to see what your teammates here at CPC are working towards accomplishing. I know of one particular member that has a birthday coming up and is going to be doing a lot of pull ups between now and then. Please take a moment and stroll through that section of the Forum. If you haven’t written in any Elite Goals of your own, now would be a great time. If you have, now would be an even better time to map out a plan on how you’re going to achieve them. Please post to comments your #1 goal for the next 3 months, and one step that you are going to take today towards accomplishing it.
Today’s Workout:
5-3-2-1-1-10 (yes 10) Push Press

Lisa, when are those races? Can you post a link or two? My relationship with Running has gotten a lot better lately (less arguing, name calling and co-dependence) and would be up for a run or two before the sectionals.

Number one goal: 30 pullups by end of month.
How to get there? Do a shitload of pull-ups with lots of variation — deadhang, towel, wide-grip, kipping — between now and then

First off, thank you to everyone that chimed in here. It takes some courage to put yourself and your goals out there for the public to see. I appreciate it, Eric appreciates it and the rest of your teammates appreciate it. By simply doing this one exercise you have put yourself in a category all by yourselves.
Since I haven’t chimed in yet, here’s what I’m up to until March 13th and 14th:
I have one singular goal – place in the top 20 at the Sectionals. To do so I’m committed to the following:
- 4 times a week minimum of CF training, preferabley with the group class. Malzone’s offered to program some additional workouts for me and is watching my form like a hawk so I know I’ll be in good shape.
- In addition to CF training I’m adding in the element of 2X weekly jiujitsu sessions or DeCoste-do fight training. This is good overall training and also makes me very happy. Happy = good.
- Whenever there’s good surf I’m surfing in addition. Surfing makes me happier than just about anything on this planet.
- Something that may not make me as happy as the above is running. I’m adding 1 long run a week and a doing burner cardio sets that have running in them on strength days.
- Modified Paleo (carbs from veggies, no sugar or processed foods) until Feb 15th. Full nazi Paleo for the last month.
- No drinking with the exception of my birthday (where none of these rules apply)
- Completing the OPT challenge as a prep on said birthday.
- No other extra curricular activities that I may or may not have engaged in that may or may not have been unhealthy.
- One other aspect that I’ve added which may get scoffed at by some of the more hardcore CF’ers our there is medical Qi Gong and meditation. I did a lot of both during acu school and have blown them both off since moving here. There is a medical Qi Gong class on Wed from 10:30-11:30 a.m that I’m attending here in SB if anyone’s interested.
This is a lot of exercise for a 3 month span, but I believe that by eating well, living clean and taking care of myself that it’s more than doable. Never underestimate the power of a big ass scary f-ing goal. Last year felt like it was all about recovering from school and merely surviving the first 6 months of business. This year is all about thriving and kicking some expectations right in the teeth. The Sectionals are in my old backyard, are being run by my old gym and will be against a lot of my old teammates and friends. I’m treating this event like it’s a fight and will live accordingly. Bring it.

You magnificent bastard, I salute you.
